Our lodge is roughly 250m off the main road and the road is maintained to ensure easy access for most vehicles.

Please note there are NO PARKING BAYS near the chalets for peace and quiet. Our "camo" mini bakkie will transport your luggage to and from the chalet upon arrival and departure

Working farm:

We are a working farm and are surrounded by other farms.

This means that farm related noises (tractors, chainsaws, brushcutters etc) can be expected during your stay with us.

We try to limit our farming activities, such as burning of tracer lines, burning of fire breaks, block burning, grass cutting, etc to midweek out of season periods, which is why we offer such a fantastic midweek discount.

Please do understand that these farming activities are ESSENTIAL.

Firebreaks protect the chalets and property from possible runaway fires in winter.

Fishing at the lodge:

Guests wishing to fish at our lodge should be aware of the following guidelines:

  • Bring Your Own Gear: Fishing equipment is not provided; please bring your own.

  • Fishing Permits: An additional charge of R150 per person per day for fishing permits. This allows for the catchment of Brown trout and Rainbow trout. If you have not made us aware that you are fishing, during your booking process, please let us know in advance.

  • Catch and Release: We operate a catch and release program only.

  • Equipment Restrictions: Only fly fishing equipment is allowed; spinning rods and bass rods are not permitted. Please ensure that all hooks are barbless, as this facilitates easier release of the fish.

  • Fishing Locations: There are three dams available for fishing, as well as a section of the Dorp's River. Please download the map below, so you can make yourself familiar of all the good fishing spots.

  • Bass Policy: We do not stock bass in our dams.
If you catch bass, please remove and kill them, as they are an invasive species that can harm our ecosystem.

Please take care of our fish and be a responsible angler.
Trout are incredibly delicate species and must be handled with care to ensure their survival.
Please do not drop the fish, do not squeeze them, and always use a net when reeling them in.
Avoid dragging the fish out of the water with your rod.
Please make sure your hands are wet when you are handling them.
Keep them in the water when removing the hooks and avoid keeping them out of the water for longer than 60 seconds.
