Experience outstanding trout fishing at our three pristine dams and alongside a stunning 2km stretch of the Dorp's river.
With our regular management and consistent stocking of the dams, we guarantee outstanding fishing conditions for every skill level. We stock fish ranging from 600g to 3kg, ensuring a rewarding experience for all anglers. Whether you're a seasoned expert or a novice trying fly fishing for the first time, you'll discover the ideal spot to cast your line.
Please Note: Prime Trout fishing is from March to August.
During the warmer months, trout are less active and more sensitive to elevated water temperatures, which can lead to higher mortality.
We only stock our dams during the cooler months, from March to September, as the warmer waters afterward result in approximately 70% loss of the stocked fish.
Stocking during the cooler months ensures more fish and healthier stock for our guests to enjoy.

Why is our venue catch and release only?
At our lodge, we proudly offer a catch-and-release program, and you might wonder why we prioritise this practice.
We face challenges from natural predators such as otters, herons, and fish eagles, along with issues relating to poor angling skills. By implementing a catch-and-release policy, we strive to ensure that there are enough fish in our dams for all anglers to enjoy and have a rewarding fishing experience.
Unless a fish has been damaged due to poor angling skills, no fish may be taken.
There are plenty of places to purchase fish in Dullstroom, so please feel free to talk to our team about where you can buy fish.
In the event that you damage a fish and you have to kill it, the fish will be charged for at current rates of R375.00 p/kg.
Important note:
Fishing fee : R250 per person per stay. ( This fee is applicable for guests staying at the lodge. Day visitor fee is different.)
We do not supply any fishing equipment and it is your responsibility to bring along all the necessary gear.
